Letters from the Agenzia and deadlines

When the Agenzia delle Entrate writes to your Italian company, you know the same day, with the amount and the date to respond by.

Letters from the Agenzia land in the Cassetto Fiscale, the company’s tax drawer at the Agenzia. F24 payments fall due on the 16th, and penalties grow with every week of delay. FiscalPulse reads your company’s Cassetto Fiscale every month, emails you in English as soon as a letter appears and reminds you before each deadline.

01The letter appears in the Cassetto Fiscale.

A letter from the Agenzia, Italy’s Revenue Agency, may arrive by PEC (certified email), reach the accountant’s office or appear only in the “L’Agenzia scrive” section of the Cassetto Fiscale, and each route has its own timing.

The report reads that section in full every month, including notices of irregularity (avvisi bonari).

02You get an email, with the letter attached.

The email carries the Italian original, the reason, the amount in question and the date by which to settle, explained in English and taken from the text of the letter, where it is often hard to find.

03The deadline joins a single schedule.

Next to the letter sit the month’s F24 payments (the single form for Italian taxes and contributions), social security contributions, tax instalments and payment plans in progress, sorted by date: everything that has to go out, on one page.

05The letter stays in view until it is closed.

The report matches each letter against the F24 payments made and marks it as paid, in instalments or still open, with the number of days since it arrived.

  • 04A reminder before it falls due.

A few days before the deadline you receive a second email, with the amount and the penalty you avoid by paying on time.

A letter costs less when you read it early

Sixty days to pay with the reduced penalty

An avviso bonario is the notice the Agenzia sends when its automated checks find tax unpaid.

Paid within 60 days of receipt, it carries a third of the penalty, and instalments are possible if the first one is paid within the same 60 days. Found late, it costs the full penalty plus interest and goes to collection. The report shows the deadline with the reduced penalty already calculated.

Every compliance letter, read with amount and difference

Compliance letters flag an inconsistency: VAT declared in the quarterly return and not paid, invoices sent late, electronic card takings that do not match the recorded retail sales.

The report reads every type of letter. For letters on quarterly VAT returns it also shows what was due, what was paid and the difference period by period, so you know at once what it costs to close the matter through ravvedimento operoso, the voluntary correction with reduced penalties, before the date given.

The payment schedule updates itself

The payment schedule updates itself

F24 payments for VAT and contributions, tax instalments, lease payments and instalment plans with the Agenzia sit in different places and turn up one at a time.

The report puts them on one page sorted by due date. For a sample construction company the same page shows two open notices totalling €55,220, one with eight instalments left, next to the vehicle leases.

  • New formal acts from the Agenzia, with the stage they have reached

Since 28 July 2026 the “L’Agenzia scrive” section also receives automated partial assessments, tax demands and self-correction decisions by the Agenzia.

The report writes to you as soon as one appears and follows it from notification to payment, settlement or appeal, with the total including penalties and interest.

  • Payment codes that change over the years

A payment made correctly three years ago can look like something else today, because the code was withdrawn or replaced in the meantime.

Code 8906, for example, was replaced in 2023 by codes 8947 to 8953. The report maps every historical F24 payment to the right code.

  • Repeated letters, counted over time

When letters to the same company start to multiply, a formal demand from the collection agency is usually not far off.

The report counts the letters received over the years, marks in red those open for more than ninety days and gives you time to stop the series.

Questions

Where are letters from the Agenzia delle Entrate kept in the Cassetto Fiscale?

In the “L’Agenzia scrive” section of the Cassetto Fiscale, next to the notices of irregularity and avvisi bonari. FiscalPulse reads these sections every month on your company’s behalf and emails you, in English and with the original attached, as soon as a new letter appears, so nobody has to log in to check.

How long do you have to pay an avviso bonario?

Sixty days from receipt, for notices issued since 2025. Within that term the penalty is one third, and you can pay in instalments if the first one is paid in time. After it, the amount is entered for collection with the full penalty and interest. The report shows the deadline on page one and reminds you a few days before.

Which F24 deadlines does the report follow?

Every deadline that appears in your company’s documents. That means monthly or quarterly VAT, INPS social security contributions, tax instalments and balances, and instalments of payment plans in progress. The VAT regime is recognised from the codes of F24 payments already made, and each amount shows its source, declared or estimated.

Does the report also see letters that arrive by PEC?

The report reads the letters recorded in the company’s Cassetto Fiscale, where the Agenzia collects them. Notifications keep arriving wherever they arrive today. You also receive a clear email in English with the original attached, the amount and the settlement date, and your accountant can receive it too.

What happens to a letter that is still open?

It stays in the register of open notices, with the amount, the settlement date and the days since it arrived. When the matching payment appears among the F24 payments, the report marks it as paid or in instalments. If it passes ninety days without a response, it is highlighted in red.

Read the next letter from the Agenzia on the day it arrives.

Once access is in place, every new letter reaches you by email, in English, with a reminder before its deadline.
