For CFOs

What the bank, the statutory auditors and the Agenzia will read in your numbers, in front of you first, every month.

FiscalPulse reads your company’s Cassetto Fiscale, the file the Agenzia delle Entrate keeps on every Italian company, and returns VAT, taxes, credits and payments in the form your assessors will use: a declared figure wherever one exists, labelled with its document and year, and an estimate only where nothing has been declared.

An investment and what it does to your VAT

For a purchase of €50,000, €100,000 or €200,000, the report works out how much the VAT credit cuts your next payments and how many months it takes to absorb, and which months suit the purchase best given your cash history.

  • Before the bank assesses you

Three figures a lender will look for: VAT arrears declared in section VQ of the annual VAT return, interest expense and the debt it implies from line RF118, and equity and leverage from section RS of the corporate return.

  • What was declared, set against the documents

Quarterly VAT returns (LIPE) are set against invoices and receipts, and CU payroll certificates and the 770 return against F24 payments.

Each company gets its own measured gap, and each number is labelled with where it came from.

  • The oversight your board and statutory auditors expect

A monthly indicator register gives the board written evidence of the company’s adeguati assetti, the arrangements Italian law requires so that a crisis is caught early.

An alert goes out as overdue VAT nears €20,000: past that figure the Agenzia reports a possible crisis to the directors and to the collegio sindacale, the board of statutory auditors.

Data fusion

You already have the numbers. In the Cassetto Fiscale they also sit side by side.

Invoices sit in the accounting system, F24 payments with the accountant, returns in the accountant’s files, letters in the PEC mailbox: each holds a piece.

The report lines them up. Each payment is checked against what was owed, each credit against how it was used, each return against the invoices for the same period.

Set up the report for your company

Activation needs the company’s Entratel credentials, or a partner accountant appointed for read-only access. If you have to apply for the credentials, we do it with you through the company’s PEC certified email, and they take four to seven days to arrive. Setting up takes about thirty minutes.

A hundred companies or more in your group: we run a demo on your own positions.

Above 2,000 invoices a year, or if you need job costing by project: we send a proposal based on your volumes.

Questions

Are the report’s figures declared or estimated?

Declared, whenever a declared figure exists, each with its source. VAT comes from the quarterly LIPE and the yearly VAT return, income taxes from the corporate return or the CPB agreed income, and payroll from F24 payments, CU certificates and the 770. Where an estimate is still needed it is labelled as one, so final and provisional figures are easy to tell apart.

What is section VQ of the Italian annual VAT return?

It lists VAT that was declared but left unpaid in earlier years, and what has been paid back since the return went in. Banks usually find this debt to the State much later. The report puts it in plain view, next to the payments made to clear it.

How are IRES and IRAP worked out once the company has joined the concordato preventivo biennale?

On the income agreed for the two years, which replaces any estimate. The report shows separately the IRES paid so far this year, on a cash basis, and the tax that belongs to the year, on an accrual basis. The two figures measure different things and are not expected to agree.

Does the report replace our accounting software or our books?

It works alongside them. It reads what the Italian State has received and compares it with the returns, so one page shows where the numbers agree and where something needs checking. There is nothing to connect, no software and no bank account: read-only access to the Cassetto Fiscale is enough.
