Contribution margin, against your peers
Margin rebuilt monthly from invoices and F24 payroll.

The report subtracts invoiced purchases from revenue, then the payroll cost read from F24 payments (the Italian tax payment form), and compares the result with companies under the same ATECO code. In the sample the operating margin is 5.4% against a sector median of 8.1%: you see it in July, without waiting for the annual accounts.

EU purchases, VAT credit and VIES
Intra-EU purchases are kept apart from Italian ones.

In the sample almost half the goods come from EU suppliers, with invoices completed under reverse charge, the rule where the buyer accounts for the VAT. The report shows the VAT credit in the Cassetto Fiscale and tells you when it becomes usable. It also checks that your VAT number is active in VIES, the EU database you must be in to buy from other EU countries without VAT.

Across hundreds of customers, the report picks it up from the invoice trend and emails you the amount and its weight on revenue, so your sales team can call before the next reorder. The same report shows how much came from new customers and how much was lost from those who stopped buying.

Why VAT leaves your account before the customer pays
July’s deliveries are invoiced by 15 August.

The VAT on that deferred invoice still belongs to July’s settlement and is paid on 16 August. The customer pays at 60 or 90 days end of month, so for weeks you are fronting the VAT. In the sample, deferred invoices make up 40.6% of revenue and the August payment is €72,600. The report tells you in advance, with a collection time estimated from your invoice mix.

Questions
Can I see my margin before the annual accounts?
The report calculates it every month from the invoices you issue and receive. It subtracts invoiced purchases from revenue to get the contribution margin, then the payroll cost rebuilt from F24 payments. Next to it you see the median for companies with the same ATECO code. Stock and depreciation do not pass through the Cassetto Fiscale, and the report says so on the page.
Does it read an online shop’s electronic sales records?
Yes, together with the e-invoices. Revenue in the report is invoices issued plus corrispettivi telematici, net of credit notes. A company that sells to businesses and online to consumers sees it all in one number, month by month, compared every quarter with what was declared in the LIPE.
What does it cost with thousands of invoices?
The €29 monthly price covers companies with up to 2,000 invoices a year. Many distributors are above that: the company in our sample issues about 12,400 invoices in seven months. For these volumes, or if you also want analytical accounting joined with your bank accounts, we prepare a proposal based on your numbers. Write to us through the contact form.
Do I need to connect our ERP or bank?
No. The company’s Cassetto Fiscale credentials are enough, or a partner accountant in Italy appointed for access, and access is read-only. Orders, price lists and stock stay in your ERP. The report works on the documents the Italian State has already received: invoices, electronic sales records, F24 payments, VAT settlements and returns.
Can I use it to apply for invoice financing?
Yes, as a document to attach to the application. Every month you get a version with the six-dimension tax score, the regularity of VAT and INPS (social security) payments and revenue updated to the previous month. Whoever assesses the credit line then works on numbers a few weeks old, already explained.
How do I follow VAT on purchases from abroad?
The report shows purchases from foreign suppliers every month, next to the VAT credit in the Cassetto Fiscale. It splits them between services, intra-EU goods and other reverse charge purchases. It tells you when the credit becomes usable and alerts you if your VAT number is removed from VIES, with date and reason.
